Reading - THIS WILL COUNT AS A WEEKLY READING GRADE!!

I want the students to read every night for at least 15 minutes. I would like for the title of the book to be recorded ON THE READING LOG and turned in on Friday. This can be from their reading book or any other book that will help them to grow as readers.

I have given them the rules for picking a "just right" book: They should read a page randomly from the book. While they are reading, they should hold up a finger for each word they do not know. At the end of the page if they are holding up 0-1 fingers, the book may be too easy - 2-3 fingers, the book is just right if an adult is around who can help them with unfamiliar words - 4-5 fingers, the book is probably too hard and they should try it again later in the year.
